Darryl DC Cobbin

DC has an addiction. He fell madly in love with Marketing and this torrid relationship with building world-class brands carries on to this day.

As a young cat at The Coca-Cola Company, he led the Sprite brand to become the #1 growth soft drink in the U.S. He was smitten, so he broke out to Boost Mobile as head of marketing, the mobile tech start-up became the #1 wireless no contract growth brand. Ever the brand lover, as EVP of Marketing for 20th Century Fox films, he was one of the first people in the world to witness the mind-bending first 90 seconds of Avatar footage, the #1 Box Office Movie of All Time upon release.

With three #1s under his belt he founded Brand Positioning Doctors to spread more Brand Love. DC is co-host of the Brands, Beats & Bytes podcast launched on Stanford University radio station KZSU. His marketing approaches have been chronicled in multiple books and media platforms including: 3 Kings: Diddy, Dr. Dre and Jay-Z, and Hip Hop's Multibillion-Dollar Rise; Romancing the Brand; The Big Payback; The Tanning of America; The Wall Street Journal; The New York Times; CNN; and PBS. DC is honored to be a recipient of the Brandweek Marketer of the Year Award when these things called magazines existed (The Oscars of the marketing world at the time). No, seriously, it was a thing as Steve Jobs (RIP) and Jeff Bezos were also bestowed this coveted award.

Oh, DC is unapologetically BLACK.
